Proud Lollipop Mom Moment

During the language screening portion of Nordonia’s Kindergarten registration, my daughter Allyson was asked the difference between an apple and a banana. I expected her to say something like “an apple is red and a banana is yellow”. Instead, she thought for a moment, and then answered the question with “An apple is round, and a banana is crescent shaped”. The instructor conducting the test looked at me, and then at another instructor, and asked me “does your daughter go to Lollipop Preschool?”. I answered “Yes she does, why do you ask?”. Both told me that the only children who have used the word ‘crescent’, or know what it means are children who attend Lollipop! Thanks so much to our Lollipop teachers for working so hard to prepare our children for Kindergarten, and for making me a proud Lollipop Mom!

Madeline-ism

Today, between my wife & Madeline, our 4 year old:
Madeline: “Do you know everything Mom?”
Mom: “No honey, I don’t”
Madeline: “Well, I can teach you one day. Maybe Saturday?”
The wisdom of the four-year-old! and she’ll teach me–I’m so lucky!

Scholastic Book Fair

Lollipop-Co-Op Preschool is hosting a Scholastic Book Fair that will be open the public after services on Sunday, December 9th from 11am – 1pm in the lower level of the social hall. Books are Cash and Carry and all books will be for children ages 6 and under. We will also be holding a bake sale, so bring your appetites!
Cash and Checks made out to Lollipop Co-Op will be accepted.
Books make great Christmas gifts for the little ones in your life. We hope you will plan to join us to finish, or even start your holiday shopping!
Additional hours for the book fair will be Monday – Thursday, December 10 – 13 from 8:30am – 9:30am and again from 11am – 1pm each day. We will also hold a final sale night on Thursday, December 13th from 6pm-8pm. Thanks for supporting our kids!

Family Outing

I just wanted to thank Tammy for arranging the Family Outing at The Carriage Trade Farm.

Resources for Pre-K work

Does anyone know of a website where we can download materials for our Pre-schooler? We are looking for activities we can do with our preschooler while we do homework with our 1st grader. She likes to do homework too.
